We released the historic 100th edition of our weekly act-of-kindness column “Shining Example” on Monday November 15, 2021, at 8am EST.
Just in time for the holiday season of giving and gratitude, the milestone entry features Ashanti Branch, the widely acclaimed founder and executive director of Ever Forward Club.
A Monday morning staple since 2019, each “Shining Example” features a remarkable person sharing an inspiring personal story about an act of kindness.
In the 100th edition Branch offers a tale related to his non-profit organization that provides support for young African American and Latino women and men who are not achieving to the level of their potential in school.
“Ashanti Branch is brilliant, but he’s also a nice, caring person,” says Mr. Joe Walker, Co-Founder and Managing Editor of THISENT.com, and creator and writer of “Shining Example”.
“What Ashanti’s done for the lives of young people is extraordinary,” Walker adds. “He certainly earned the honor of being Shining Example #100.”
“Shining Example” debuted on THISENT.com on Dec. 9, 2019. Its first entry featuring sports media icon Cari Champion.
Since then it has featured such persons as NAACP president Dr. Cheyenne Bryant, Time Magazine Top 100 children’s author Deborah Diesen, iconic fashion designer Ashley Nell Tipton, renowned charitable artist Rob Schamberger, actress and author Retta, hip-hop legend DJ Jazzy Jeff, WWE Hall of Fame legend Ted DiBiase Sr., award-winning actress Gloria Mann, Jordan Brand ambassador and violinist Lee England Jr, gospel icon Fred Hammond, music/film legend Ice T, Mess In a Bottle creator Kalilah Wright, Marley’s Mutts Dog Rescue founder Zack Skow, and award-winning author, civil rights lawyer, autism advocate and CNN legal analyst Areva Martin, among others, sharing heartwarming stories of kindness.
