Several years ago while I was having a conversation with hit-making singer and songwriter Ne-Yo, we ended up in a discussion about Stevie Wonder. Ne-Yo said to him Stevie’s never made a bad song, and I agreed. There are several songs in his exceptional catalog that make me smile, tear up, or simply want to dance. Recently having a Stevie song associated with a video game was a first.
After watching Nintendo’s final Super Smash Bros Ultimate character reveal, it made me long for a new Mario Kart with as many playable and unlockable choices as Smash. I started thinking about how the racing staple has an incredible fan-following around the world, enough to consider its own sub-culture. That’s when it happened. The melody for Stevie Wonder’s hit “Part-Time Lover” popped in my head, only I heard it as “Kart-Time Lover”! |THIS.
