Hip-hop icon Rakim earned the ovation he received at The Loft on Valentine’s Day long before stepped foot on that stage. His music had already, for years, impacted the lives of the sold-out audience packed in front of him. What he was receiving was admiration, appreciation, and gratitude. Rakim’s unforgettable performance was over for several minutes but he stood there as long as his fans continued to applaud him.
