This world is clearly broken. Our country is clearly broken.
I don’t possess enough knowledge to point fingers or make accusations. But when I tell my mom that I went on a run at 1AM and the reaction is fear and anxiety, there’s a problem.
When I wake up anxiously every morning because I cannot sleep peacefully with what is happening and has been happening, there is a problem.
There has been a problem.
It starts with the heart. Changes must be made in so many ways – legislation, leadership, etc., but as this ongoing issue continues to be pushed through the media, morality needs to be in question.
Why are we to the point where it takes the broadcasting of senseless, heartless murder on the TV for this to be addressed? Because, people’s morals are askew.
Our country is more concerned with getting the economy going than they are about the lives of its citizens. More concerned about getting sports back than they are about racial injustice.
I am not a pastor or a religious scholar, but I know this isn’t in alignment with the word that I read. I get it; hate and division has been around forever, but that doesn’t mean I have to stand for it. Greed and power have crippled hearts and spirits.
I don’t have all of the answers and l know that I never will, but I can’t stand idly by. |THIS.
