The Jump Off Beat Battle was set to take place at Urban Beat in Lansing, MI on March 28, 2020. The premier beat battle in Capital City, 16 competitive, talented producers and beat makers were set to square off in a tournament-style contest to determine who was the best.
Unfortunately, due to the spread of COVID-19, the competition at Urban Beat had to be canceled.
I know the many would-be participants are disappointed by this and they were itching to showcase their possibly winning creations. But here’s where they get to be creative yet again!
An online beat battle could be just as exciting as an in-person battle.
Utilizing websites, social media, and whatever software and apps are at their disposal, they could orchestrate an all-new battle, or several new battles, virtually.
Use audio links and videos for audiences and judges to hear these tracks. Scores could be shared via comments, then tallied to determine winners.
That’s just one idea, but the greater point is cancelation of The Jump Off Beat Battle doesn’t mean there can’t and won’t be any beat battles. Take the reigns to have your music heard, and let us know so we can support it. It’s a time for creatives to get creative!
