An emcee, producer and DJ Y’z Council AKA STEADY BLACK AKA Rayshawn Grissom embodies the word “solid”.
With a distinct pallet for the free forms of off-kilter drums, cosmic soundscapes, and the spectrum of style, his dependability, faithfulness, and commitment all serve as the gravitational pull that improves the quality of life of all in his orbit.
Y’z got his start with All of the Above HipHop Academy as a HipHop head who was curious as to what our then budding movement was about . He committed to observing classes and offering his time as a volunteer.
Quickly, he became a full-on member of AOTA creative and cornerstone for [our] B.A.R.S (Beats and Rhymes Sessions) program.
Furthermore, [Y’z] has established our “Beats and Brewers” event at the Reo Town Blue Owl Coffee where he conducts a weekly progressive and soulful musical odyssey. [He also invites] youth interested in learning how to DJ to co-captain the voyage. [He’s the] first on the scene to set up and last one to leave when the show’s over.
As a mentor, our youth witness firsthand a caliber of human this world needs more of. The kind of person who isn’t derailed by inconvenience, but [is] motivated by love to do what’s necessary for elevation.
We are beyond blessed to #build517 alongside this man. |THIS.
