C.J.’s roots deep in the digital/Internet era Hip Hop’s 50-year history. A pioneering online presence, in 1998 he seamlessly streamed arguably the first live mixshow via TheGrooveSpot.com on a dial-up connection. This innovative and technically remarkable achievement paved the way for brilliant visual and audio presentations that featured Chilla Pertilla, Sixman, Destiny’s Child, Slum Village, Bahamadia, and The Roots among others.
In the years since, the Atlanta native has worked with an esteemed list of artists and insiders that includes J. Holiday, Mega Ran, Misha Fair, Alex Harris, Skye Morales, Redd Lettaz, WLPWR, and Gene Brown. Additionally, C.J. has continued to cultivate and grow an audience of dedicated listeners on social media through his #45friday posts along with his “Set It Off” DJ sets and “CHOP CHOP CHOP” producer sets.
