This is Detroit Lions’ coach Dan Campbell. We are pleased to name him as our FEATURED ARTIST OF THE WEEK!
A former player, Campbell was a member of the Lions’ 2008 0–16 season. This historic underachievement didn’t tarnish his desire to win. Announced as the team’s head coach in 2021, Campbell colorfully and aggressively expressed his hunger for victory during his announcement press conference. Both news and social media comedically mocked his choice of words and emotional behavior, but 3 years later the laughter stopped.
Applauded for how quickly the abysmal franchise has rebounded under his gritty leadership, Campbell coached the Lions to a 12-5 record in the 2023-24 season, achieving their first NFC North Championship since 1993 and winning their first playoff game since 1991.
