Award-winning hip-hop artist Mark Cooper guarantees he’ll never be a sideshow…sideshow…sideshow, as he treks across the U.S. on his All Spark Tour.
On August 23, 2019 the Detroit native known popularly as Player One made a stop at Park Theater in Holland, MI for “NERDVANA”, a live event of drinks, exclusive merchandise, games and prizes hosted by Steven “Kingpin” Segovia, Rudy Vela, Juan Guerra, and Joel Wagner – the cast of weekly podcast Not Your Average Nerds.
One of the leading artists in hip-hop’s nerdcore subgenre, Cooper performed a 20-minute set comprised of songs from albums ‘I Am Player One’ and ‘The AllSpark’. Leading off with “Sideshow Bob” and “Player One”, he immediately got the audience involved with hooks they could chant. In between songs he spoke on his place in both nerd and hip-hop cultures as well as his prowess as a producer.
After showing off his wordplay on “Mortal Kombat High”, Cooper poured out the seriousness of “Crown Royal” and “Beam Me Up”.
Cooper closed with current hit “Chunin Exams”, getting an ovation equal to 3,000 experience points. |THIS
