Welcome to the Black Mafia Family!
If it wasn’t already apparent with the hit shows Power, For Life, Power Book II: Ghost and Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Hip Hop icon and film producer 50 Cent has built a powerhouse television empire. That streak continues with his latest series BMF.
The show description: “BMF is inspired by the true story of two brothers who rose from the decaying streets of southwest Detroit in the late 1980s and gave birth to one of the most influential crime families in this country. This is a story about love, family, and capitalism in the pursuit of the American dream.”
Since the first episode aired, the love for this show grew quickly through its first 5 episodes. Along with its realistic, gritty, and emotional showcases, its music transports you, the viewer, back to that era
The soundtrack assists to encapsulate the people, the city, the techno/electronic and Motown music, both the sounds of Detroit! The music team did a great job catapulting the audience into that era which is so necessary to a period piece show or film.
Further adding to the gravitas of the show, 50 Cent casted Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. to portray his real life father “Big Meech” in the series. Though this is Flenory Jr’s first acting gig, he has taken this role seriously, giving it the respect and care that it requires.
In a recent interview with 50 Cent, Flenory Jr. shared how he got the role. He revealed that 50 Cent enrolled him into acting school and more.
If you aren’t familiar with Flenory Jr., it’s time to get familiar!
Flenory Jr. is partnered with a star-studded cast featuring Wood Harris (The Wire, Remember The Titans, Paid In Full), Russell Hornsby (Lincoln Heights, Grimm, Creed II) Snoop Dogg, and more. The work of this great cast culminates in a powerhouse show. Its episodes have not failed to deliver.
Everyone here at THIS ENT is excited to see what’s next for BMF, and Season 2 has already been announced! | THIS.
