College Dropout was pure Hip Hop with a feel that was reminiscent of The Native Tongue Family.
Kanye’s production was a breath of fresh air at a time when it was needed.
It was loaded with standout songs and hits like “All Falls Down” (where Syleena Johnson amazingly replaced Lauren Hill who was sampled on the original version), “Slow Jamz” featuring Jamie Foxx and Twista, and “Jesus Walks” with its controversial video.
So many songs here had standout verses from GLC, Consequence, J-Ivey, Mos Def, Common, Talib Kweli, Jay-Z and more.
Kanye gets really personal with songs such as “Family Business”, “Through The Wire”, and “Last Call”.
If this was the 90s, I would give the album 5 mics and an XXL! |THIS.
