Welcome to THIS edition of GOOD QUESTION, brought to you exclusively by THISent.com! I’m your host, “Word Heavyweight Champion” Mr. Joe Walker.

Throughout my illustrious career as an entertainment writer and journalist, I’ve been blessed with opportunities to speak with many notable and famous persons. One of those is acclaimed hip-hop artist Guilty Simpson.

During our conversation I asked Guilty THIS good question: Have you been found guilty of being a dope artist?

He answered, “It depends on who you ask!

I’m an acquired taste, that’s the way I like to say it. I don’t cater my music to what’s going on around me, I just write what I feel. I know a lot of people say that but I’m totally ignorant to the new hot sound. I don’t care about it. I care about my family and taking care of my kids, doing things throughout the city, and communicating with my people.

If I’m rhyming or not, Detroit is in everything I do. Hip-hop is so fad-ish. Someone that was hot six months ago is played out. I like my sound, whatever that it. I try to stay true to my gut feeling rather than chase sounds. At times I might alienate a few fans, but hardcore fans might rock with it.

One thing they can say, they can say I’m guilty of being unique!” |THIS.
