Welcome to THIS edition of GOOD QUESTION, brought to you exclusively by THISent.com! I’m your host, “Word Heavyweight Champion” Mr. Joe Walker.
Throughout my illustrious career as an entertainment writer and journalist, I’ve been blessed with opportunities to speak with many notable and famous persons. One of those is jazz icon Najee!
During our conversation I asked the chart-topping saxophonist THIS good question: Have you breathed more life into the people your music has touched or your saxophone?
He answered, “Obviously I’d like to think it’s touched more than just the saxophone! It’s an inanimate object. It doesn’t mean anything without the player.
More importantly, I hope it’s been a vehicle to help some people – young people in particular – be inspired to have a dream and a vision and [to] actually want to do it, to be able to continue on doing it.
I was a kid with very humble beginnings and a simple dream to want to do something I was passionate about. I hope people don’t look at me and I think I was destined to be successful. I don’t see my life that way at all.
I see somebody who worked. When opportunity came, thank goodness I was prepared.” |THIS
