Welcome to THIS edition of GOOD QUESTION, brought to you exclusively by THISent.com! I’m your host, “Word Heavyweight Champion” Mr. Joe Walker.
Throughout my illustrious career as an entertainment writer and journalist, I’ve been blessed with opportunities to speak with many notable and famous persons. One of those is award-winning singer and pastor Andrea Helms.
During our conversation I asked the Andrea THIS good question: What the difference between performing and testifying?
She answered, “Anyone can perform; there’s dancers and singers and actors. I think sometimes when I think of performance I think of an act. That’s not what I am.
My testimony of what God has done for me, when I get up and I sing I think about that. It almost becomes worship. That’s what I do, I lead worship. It’s not an act. I don’t know how to do that.
You can either act and perform and it just sounds good, or what’s the meaning behind what you’re doing? What’s the motive behind that?
Testifying is what God has brought you from and brought you into! That’s what comes out when I sing.” |THIS.
