Welcome to this edition of GOOD QUESTION, brought to you by THISent.com! I’m your columnist M.J. Walker.

Throughout my illustrious career as an entertainment writer and journalist, I’ve been blessed with opportunities to speak with many notable and famous persons. Normally this would be where I’d introduce a celebrity to answer one of my questions.

Since it’s the holiday season I’m going to answer THIS GOOD QUESTION: Who’s made the best Christmas music?

My answer: Vince Guaraldi Trio.

I can’t tolerate traditional Christmas songs, or the ones considered Christmas classics – “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”, “Jingle Bells”, “Here Comes Santa Claus”, “Frosty the Snowman”, “12 Days of Christmas” (tied for the worst!), “Jingle Bell Rock”, “Baby It’s Cold Outside”, “All I Want for Christmas is You” (tied for the worst!) …

I’m talking about all the songs you’d hear repeatedly, varied but repetitive renditions, if you worked in an office building or for retail outlets. And I’ve done both.

To office buildings and retail outlets: STOP TORTURING YOUR OCCUPANTS AND EMPLOYEES WITH THIS MUSIC!

Guaraldi’s A Charlie Brown Christmas is a masterful, beautiful, chill, upbeat vibe. I think most people this time of year forget how jazz can change and enhance a mood until they watch the annual Charlie Brown Christmas cartoon. Having the album allows enjoyment with the antics of Snoop and the Peanuts.

Hearing the Trio’s holiday soundtrack transports me back to watching Charlie Brown on CBS from my Grandparents’ couch, at a time when my feet didn’t touch the floor yet.

Vince Guaraldi Trio made the best Christmas music to me because, in my heart, it’s magical. |THIS.
