Hip Hop/Nerdcore artist and producer “Player One” Mark Cooper is the most featured recording artist in the 2-year history of THISENT.com!

As we celebrate out 2-Year Anniversary, it was only right the return to our site for THIS INTERVIEW. In this special conversation we talk about his history on THISENT, key moments in his career through both our eyes, and what to expect from Gerald’s Field – the final chapter of his Player One 4-album series. Enjoy!

Since we’re celebrating the 2-Year Anniversary of THISENT.com, it’s only right that you’re a part of the party; you’re the most featured recording artist in the 2-year history of our site! What do you think of that?

I feel that it is amazing and a blessing to achieve such an accolade! I am very thankful!

In our Best of 2019 we applauded you for your performance at Not Your Average Nerd’s NERDVANA event in Holland, MI. Tell us what you remember most about that day?

There were a lot of memorable experiences from that event. One in particular was when a 9-year-old kid walked up to me and said, “You’re Player One!” and “Is that the real power glove?”.

Certain moments like that are life-long, so for added value I let him wear my Power Glove for a picture and I can tell I made a kid’s day. That inspires me to do more.

Big Kid Kingpin, one of the Not Your Average Nerds founders, did a reaction video to you “Heroes” single that we shared. He liked it, we liked it, how did you feel about it – the video and how the song turned out?

Yeah! That was really awesome that he did that! I actually felt the video was really fun to make as it was recording the song. So much fun!

As we started to build video content for THISENT, you blessed us with your Power Ranger Raps. Thank you! That series of songs has become iconic since. What’s some of the cool doors they’ve opened for you and what’s next for those songs?

Well, to be honest, quite a few.

And to be more honest I am honored and shocked at the same time; from Jason David Frank, Karan Ashley, Blake Foster, and various enthusiasts sharing your music to fans using the content to show off their Power Ranger fandom is a mind-blowing experience.

The next step is to finish the project “Ranger Raps Redux” which will be done Aug 28th for Power Ranger Day.

You’ve appeared on THIS PODCAST twice, which was cool, but we did an entire episode dedicated to reviewing your album Test Drive. Where did that stand amongst all positive reception you got for that LP?

Again, I am blown away about the response not only in the Hip Hop/Nerdcore community, but also in the synthwave community as well. From it being my first vinyl release and being sold in stores is a dream come true.

We became a fan of your music, especially your production, when we met you at All of the Above HipHop Academy’s The Jump Off Beat Battle – which you won. That admiration for you as a producer would lead us to reviewing the incredible album The Virus by Miz Korona. Did you think the Hip Hop community would embrace that album as strongly as it did, especially the track your produced?

Absolutely. I feel that the Hip Hop community would embrace dope music and that’s what I try to bring in everything I create.

One of the coolest things you’ve done with THISENT and Proven Esports Group was commentary for our Tekken 7 tournament One Button Beatdown. That was a lot of fun! What’s next for you in gaming and esports?

Well, to be honest I’m not sure. I would love to be involved either musically, marketing, or even as a guest host in that arena.

The last time we interviewed you, you debuted the left-handed Power Glove and your White Ranger-inspired Player One suit. Will we see that in a video?

You never know. It could happen.

You’re our current Featured Artist with your EP Success and Failure, and we’re excited to hear your upcoming album Gerald’s Field. What exclusive, top secret, insider information can you share with us exclusively about it because of our celebrated 2-year history of Player One-featuring awesomeness? (Was that enough butter and pandering?)

I’ll say this: lots of familiar faces, unlikely collaboration; epic finish. |THIS.
