It is a blessing when remarkable people allow us to interview them. Those conversations are reflections of us both, that’s why it’s imperative that what we ask matters.
One of the people we were blessed to speak with was Hip Hop artist Huff The Goat!
On August 11, 2023, he will join Sixman and a lineup of great artists in Grand Rapids, MI for HIP HOP 50Th Anniversary Music Fest live at top-rated venue The Pyramid Scheme. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime event sponsored by WYCE Radio, NOXX and COOKIES GR, Wasted Brand Clothing, Debo Scotty (Power Moves Only), Vitale’s On Leonard, THIS ENT, and Feeding America (West Michigan).
With this cultural milestone in mind, we asked Huff THIS GOOD QUESTION: What excites you about celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop and why is this milestone so culturally and socially important?
He answered, “I’m excited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop because Hip Hop has always been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I was born with the music in me, as my dad – Scoot B – was one of the best artists in the city that I’m from. It’s always fun to hit the stage because I feel like it’s a celebration every time – for myself, my pops, and the Hip Hop culture itself.
I think this is important for the culture because though Hip Hop has changed over the years, it’s still one of the biggest genres in music and maybe the most influential. It still helps bring people together, uplifts people’s spirits, and, in mine and many cases, save lives!” | THIS ENT
