It is a blessing when remarkable people allow us to interview them. Those conversations are reflections of us both, that’s why it’s imperative that what we ask matters.

One of the persons we were blessed to speak with was Hip Hop artist LoudChief!

On August 11, 2023, he will join Sixman and a lineup of great artists in Grand Rapids, MI for HIP HOP 50Th Anniversary Music Fest live at top-rated venue The Pyramid Scheme. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime event sponsored by WYCE Radio, NOXX and COOKIES GR, Wasted Brand Clothing, Debo Scotty (Power Moves Only), Vitale’s On Leonard, THIS ENT, and Feeding America (West Michigan).

With this cultural milestone in mind, we asked LoudChief THIS GOOD QUESTION: What excites you about celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop and why is this milestone so culturally and socially important?

LoudChief answered, “For me to celebrate this monumental milestone is exciting because it’s an opportunity to let the people know that Hip Hop is still alive and well. Not only that, but it’s here to stay!

Hip Hop is culturally and socially important because it’s a part of everyday life. Hip Hop is a lifestyle. It’s a part of my upbringing. It’s so influential in every facet of what’s going on in society, from news to commercials to how we teach kids their ABC’s. I’m an 80s baby, so I don’t consider Hip Hop just something I do.

I am Hip Hop!

From the dialogue to the dap, it’s in me, not just on me.” | THIS ENT
