Businessman Andre Murphy refused to watch the communities of his native New Jersey suffer during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The CEO of The Live Group, LLC and founder of Growing Black Wealth saw concerned people in dire need of nutritional and spiritual sustenance. Knowing his way around the kitchen as well as any boardroom, Andre took off his suit and tie to don an apron and chef hat.
Propelled by a divine sense of purpose, he whipped up an enormous batch of his signature soul food dish that’s known affectionately and professionally as Murphy’s Chicken N Potatoes. Andre said grace over it, safely packaged it, and delivered it to the community to feed those in need … free of charge.
This was not a one-time-only blessing.
On November 4, 2020 Andre kicked off Murphy’s Chicken N Potatoes Community Feeding Tour!
Sponsored by Parke Bank, Fulton Bank, Camey’s Autoworks, U Change, Ocean First Bank, City Wide Towing, Brody International, Party Like Promotions, Salad Chef, TME, C.R.O.P.S., Levi Construction, Atlantic City Network, Suasion Communications Group, La Casa Dominicana New Jersey, the tour will visit churches, various venues, and community centers for 6 – 8 weeks. With each stop Andre and his team will feed the signature dish to more than 500 people.
Andre’s Community Feeding Tour mission is to assist struggling families and communities during this pandemic. They are achieving this through a Grab N Go Feeding Initiative that’s contact free and it follows all CDC guidelines.
Murphy’s Chicken N Potatoes is favorite among many. The dish is being offered to feed the soul and be a tasty, filling meal that’s helping them through.
The “Healing For The Soul” movement behind the Community Feeding Tour is also focused on unifying communities. Andre, his team and their supporters are driven to assist the less fortunate and to aid the healing process of people hurt by the ongoing pandemic and the racial tension that has divided people even more.
