Last year was incredible for award-winning, multi-hyphenate talent Alexis Rosado, and we’re excited for what she has in store here in 2020. A poet, film maker, member of All of the Above Hip Hop Academy, and CEO of Vision Success Marketing & Consulting, Alexis took time out her busy schedule to answer THIS questionnaire about her previous 12 months and what to expect from her in the months ahead.
THIS: How would you summarize 2019?
Alexis Rosado: 2019 was a year of growth. Better work. Better me.
THIS: What was your favorite song of ‘19?
Alexis Rosado: Favorite song… Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts”.
THIS: What was your favorite movie?
Alexis Rosado: ‘Joker’! It was so good and kinda disturbing, but great videography, great acting, amazing!
THIS: What’s the television show you couldn’t stop watching?
Alexis Rosado: I don’t watch TV, but I always would catch the performances from ‘The Masked Singer’.
THIS: What album got the most play?
Alexis Rosado: ‘Cuz I Love you’ by Lizzo.
THIS: What did you Google the most?
Alexis Rosado: Billie Eilish. I think she is so interesting!
THIS: What was the most shocking thing you heard all last year?
Alexis Rosado: One of my good friends passed away unexpectedly in April, and it shocked me to the core.
THIS: Tell us how you evolved over the last 12 months.
Alexis Rosado: I became much more comfortable in my skin. I would say I was in the fire becoming a diamond this year. I got a clearer vision, ability to say no to things I don’t want to do, and yes to things I do want to do. A lot of self-awareness and continued awareness of my flaws, and working on those instead of only working on my strength.
THIS: What was your biggest blessing last year?
Alexis Rosado: Doing BELOW THE STACKS. It was such an honor to be the marketing director and create fantastic material! Biggest blessing of my entire career; to meet those artists, interview them, market an event that can impact our city, and honored that we executed our end. It was only by the grace of God and hard-working folks.
THIS: How do you teach someone to have better respect for the value of time?
Alexis Rosado: I don’t think you can teach someone. I think things happen that remind you that time needs to be valued and stewarded well. Like deaths and sicknesses. I think life’s consequences will teach you more than anyone’s words.
THIS: What can we expect from you here in 2020?
Alexis Rosado: ‘THE MOUNTAIN CLIMBER’, my book! It will be published. I will [also] be a media content creator for some missions trips, so I will be in Vietnam and other locations this year. |THIS
