The year 2020 has been difficult. Despite its many challenges, recording artist and producer Milos Collins made the most of it.

A creative, extremely focused musician residing in Atlanta, GA, Milos won The Fratellis much talked about Global Music Competition. His prize was to record his single “Friends”, have it mixed by the multi-platinum selling band’s producer Tony Hoffer, and released (December 11, 2020) on their Cooking Vinyl label.

Milos shared some of his time with us by answering THIS questionnaire about his life in 2020 and what to expect from him in 2021.

How would you summarize 2020?

2020 was full of ups and downs for everyone and was, overall, a huge learning experience for everyone.

Which of your blessings would you say was the biggest?

I would say my biggest blessing this year was getting the chance to win this competition and get my foot in the door of the music industry.

Did you read any good books that you would recommend to others?

I would recommend Go Ask Alice by Beatrice Sparks.

What was the best song of the year?

“Double Negative” by Dominic Fike.

What were the movies or television shows that you couldn’t stop watching?

I loved watching documentaries about artists’ lives. The Lil Peep documentary really hit home for me.

Who were the artists you listened to the most?

Dominic Fike, Remi Wolf, Post Malone, and Travis Scott.

What did you Google the most?

Piano chords! [Laughs]

Tell us the most surprising thing you heard all year.

That there was a global pandemic starting.

Where were you when you learned about COVID-19 and how did you respond?

I was in Savannah, Georgia. My reaction was to stock up on nonperishable foods!

How were you helped and hurt by the pandemic?

I think the pandemic limited my ability to perform and network. But it also gave me the chance to spend more time creating new music in my home studio.

Did you vote?

Yes!

Did 2020 cause you to value your life and the lives of others more than you did already?

What 2020 did for me in this aspect was make me appreciate what I have more so than before. I’ve always been super appreciative of my life and situation but this year has helped shed light on the temporary, unstable nature of life and liberty.

What can we expect from you in 2021?

Expect the album. |THIS.
