Welcome to Royal Rumble Countdown brought to you by THISENT.com and The Wrestling Heroes and Insiders Podcast aka The WHIP Show!

World Wrestling Entertainment’s annual Royal Rumble match is a variation of the traditional Battle Royal match. With a total of 30 competitors, two WWE Superstars start in the ring then every 90 seconds thereafter another Superstar enters. A Superstar is eliminated when they’re thrown over the top rope and both feet touch the floor.

The last remaining Superstar is guaranteed a championship opportunity at WrestleMania versus the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

The 36th annual Royal Rumble happens live from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on January 28, 2023.

We think R-Truth should be its winner.

During a recent edition of The Wrestling News from WhatCulture, a viewer sent a question to hosts Adam Wilbourn and Andy H. Murray via Twitter @WhatcultureWWE.

The person asked if R-Truth, given his tenure with the promotion, deserved to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Andy and Adam agreed no, and both suggested that his time has passed. These guys are fantastic at what they do and we sincerely respect their opinion.

In our eyes we can see a believable scenario where Truth topples Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, and it starts with him winning the Royal Rumble.

When healthy, R-Truth is still a sensational athlete and performer. He could comedically survive the onslaught of 29 others, boggling his way to an unexpected victory. While Truth is humorously celebrating his victory on RAW or Smackdown, the Tribal Chief could arrive to verbally disrespect and disregard him as a challenger, leaving Truth dejected.

To boost his and audience confidence, WWE could have R-Truth get a pep talk from his hero John Cena. It could be reminder that Truth, although hilarious, is not a joke. He’s a former 2-time United States Champion and 2-two NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion. This ignites a focused fire, reintroducing a persona once known as Ron “The Truth” Killings.

R-Truth goes on to defeat Reigns at Mania in a serious, edge-of-your-seat, back-and-forth match that leaves the capacity crowd equally stunned and elated.

The next night on RAW, R-Truth expresses heartfelt gratitude to WWE and the fans only to be surprised by the arrival of indie star Santana Jackson, master of the Moonwalk DDT, who challenges him to a title shot. |THIS ENT + The WHIP Show
