On December 10, 2020 critically acclaimed hip-hop artist Sixman personally invited several industry notables, friends, and associates to a virtual listening session for his new album The Fix via ZOOM.

Although its attendees were present thanks to video conferencing technology, it was still incredibly intimate. Supportive hearts are analog.

The LP released on all platforms December 11.

With sounds by DJ Tommy BLK and powered by Wrecking Crew All-Stars and THISENT.com, hearing the album gave everyone clear insight into Sixman’s thoughts. His songs touch on the pandemic, systemic racism, police brutality and mistrust, the highs and lows of professional and personal friendships, being a standout MC with full respect for the culture, and his migration from his Grand Rapids, MI roots to his current residents in Atlanta, GA.

The entire album is produced by Tommy Vamoz and it features already buzzed about songs “Bad Mutha”, “Snake Shit” featuring El De Sensei, “The God”, and “Black Sinatra” featuring General Steel of Smiff-N-Wessun which were all praised for their quality, delivery, and lyricism.

Iconic Grand Rapids DJ Ill One was among the attendees. He said of the album, “There’s no skips! I wanted to hear every song all the way through.”

Another iconic DJ, Monk Matthaeus of HHAAE.org (Hip Hop Association of Advancement and Education), exclaimed owning The Fix on vinyl “is a must!”

The list of others on hand includes Grand Rapids Hip Hop Coalition President Victor Williams, radio personality Rush Da Guillotine, Curlitude.com creator Najeema Iman, and Trife of JunkiesATL who shares the hot single “Sedgwick & Cedar” with Sixman, YoAphro, Akil The MC, El De Sensei, and others. Their regards for the album were unanimously high.

One of best compliments of the session came from Sean Glambowski, one of the true pioneering tech-user entrepreneurs in the Midwest and the highly touted audio/visual artist behind HarzardWhere.com. He said, “Listening to this front to back from a visual perspective, from a photographer/videographer, it was visual without the visuals. Every track just brought you somewhere, and you could just watch a movie playing in your head as you listened to it!

“For me,” Glambowski continued, “ I can’t wait to see the visuals that go along with some of these tracks! It’s going to be hot no matter what, who does it, the concept… From the bottom of my heart it’s going to be hot.”

Acclaimed hip-hop group The Fist Coalition – comprised of MCs/media artists MicHunter D and CeldomSeen and their producer Big Shaady – were also in attendance. The group’s rhyme-slayers guest on “Filthy”, one of the songs from The Fix that received standout reception during the session.

For us at THISENT.com, we too enjoyed the entire album tremendously. Sixman has ascended to an elite-level MC and thoughtful lyrics writer. With more bars than the notes on a xylophone, he’s achieved a skill rank that comes with dedicated time investment and artistic workmanship.

Vamoz’s production is also top tier. We’d boast his beats in any conversation about producers.

Our favorite song from the 12-track LP is “Last Train 2 Belguim”, a tale of personal and professional friendship perhaps torn beyond repair.

The entire album was The Fix we all wanted and needed. |THIS.
