Last year was incredible for singer, songwriter, producer, and hip-hip artist Cass G, and we’re excited for what he has in store here in 2020. The talented product of both California and Michigan took time out his busy schedule to answer THIS questionnaire about his previous 12 months and what to expect from him in the months ahead.
THIS: How would you summarize 2019?
Cass G: 2019 was a year of growth for me. I’ve increased my fan base and extended my reach with my music. I now have a huge fan base overseas that is constantly growing every week. Personally, it felt like I was being tested. But I’ve learned to never waste energy by focusing on the negative, so I bounced back harder than ever.
THIS: What was your favorite song of ’19?
Cass G: My favorite song of 2019 would probably be “SUPERPOSITION” by Daniel Caesar featuring John Mayer. That whole entire album by itself is a vibe.
THIS: What was your favorite movie?
Cass G: [My] favorite movie was 100% ‘Joker’. It was in heavy competition with ‘Avengers: ENDGAME’, of course, but in my opinion that Joker movie is the best told story of the DC Universe to date. Yes, even better than ‘The Dark Knight’. There, I said it.
THIS: What’s the television show you couldn’t stop watching?
Cass G: The show that has me hooked will always be ‘Dragon Ball Super’. But in 2019 I give the award to season 3 of ‘Attack on Titan’.
THIS: What album got the most play?
Cass G: ‘Case Study 101’ by Daniel Caesar
THIS: What did you Google the most?
Cass G: My most Googled question was, “When is Dragon Ball Super returning??!!!” It’s a good question that for some reason never gets answered.
THIS: What was the most shocking thing you heard all last year?
Cass G: Probably when Sony tried to keep Spider-Man from Disney. Oh, I almost cried.
THIS: Tell us how you evolved over the last 12 months.
Cass G: I’ve become wise, more patient and more passionate; not just about music, [but] about everything. I’ve been happy ever since.
THIS: What was your biggest blessing last year?
Cass G: My biggest blessing [was] my grandmother being cancer free. You can’t ask for anything better than that. Truly a blessing.
THIS: How do you teach someone to have better respect for the value of time?
Cass G: By showing them how much of a difference you can make in just a few seconds. You can change a person’s life in 1 second; imagine what you can do in 5 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 10 minutes? The world and life is what you make it.
THIS: What can we expect from you here in 2020?
Cass G: Progression and consistence. Just wait and see! |THIS
