I couldn’t help but have high expectations for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever knowing I’m such a fan. I tapered them, though, also knowing that King T’Challa wouldn’t be there.
This film had to be a tribute, an actual interesting movie, and the true jump-off to the next phase for Marvel. There’s a lot there; a lot to make it muddy.
I’m proud to say that Ryan Coogler’s magic is still strong!
He did an amazing job balancing.
It sucks because, even at more than two-and-half hours, it [still] felt a bit rushed. And it had to be. I definitely could have watched a 3-hour Black Panther with a bit more character development. But I felt they more than adequately paid tribute to Chadwick Boseman while allowing each character to experience on screen, and probably real-world, grief.
Namor is better in the movies than he is in the comics. It even balanced technology with tradition which is something we battle but don’t really talk about.
Did I cry? I surprisingly held strong at the beginning. I couldn’t hold back at the end though. But I cried at the first Black Panther, so…
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever can never beat the original. Despite that, it does a valiant effort to try. It’s a welcome addition to the Black Panther story.
I’m such a fan, I will, of course, see it a few more times! | THIS ENT
