Disney’s musical ‘Aladdin’, the hit Broadway spectacle based on the classic animated feature film, is currently on its national tour. One of the scheduled stops is Wharton Center for Performing Arts in East Lansing, MI (December 4 – 15). THIS was on hand for the show on December 6, 2019.

Was it good? OMG, it was so great! We were impressed from the second the curtains opened.

The sets were so colorful and over the top, and the cast was incredibly diverse. There was even magic. At one point, Aladdin (played by Jonah Ho’Okano) disappeared then reappeared in a cart. And the iconic magic carpet ride didn’t even have strings!

The carpet ride scene, which was especially magical, had us giggling the whole time. There were stars sparkling, a huge moon, and clouds.

The Genie, played by Korie Lee Blossey, definitely stole the show. He was a big guy with a big personality, he danced a lot, and was hilarious.

The whole show was full of humor. We had a great time! |THIS
