We’ve all enjoyed music from our vehicles, sticking around inside long after we’ve parked to listen to a jam all the way to end. That’s the feeling we got, and then some, from hip-hop artist Erik Stephen’s “From My Car” Live Steam Concert on April 8, 2020.
Literally performing in his automobile while streaming live on StageIt.com, Stephen gave us that check-this-out feeling when you’ve got a hot record for your friends to hear. His 7-song, 40+ minutes set was as colorful and diverse as his famed t-shirt collection, with THISENT.com and others happy to ride shotgun for this unique event.
Speaking of those shirts, Stephen rhymed with a smile as he performed fan-favorite “Tshirt Game”. Never one to skimp on comic book, movie and cartoon references, compliments rained in the live comments as he flipped “Star Words”, “Geek” and “Pizza Party”.
Where Stephen drove “From My Car” home was during his final number, one that he played instead of performed. He gave a sneak peek of a new song titled “I Kill Giants”.
A reference to the biblical tale of David and Goliath, the traveling MC gifted the viewing audience a full taste of arguably his best rhyme and lyrical showing to date. Powerful, uplifting wordplay with a great hook, it got us excited for his forthcoming next project.
Erik Stephen closed by acknowledging the widespread concerns of COVID-19. He reminded everyone watching that death didn’t stop Jesus and assured the coronavirus was not going to stop us. |THIS.
