Hip Hop artist “Player One” Mark Cooper releasing “NintenDOPE” (out May 7th), the first single from his highly anticipated album Gerald’s Field, caused me as much excitement as a high-profile movie trailer.
Featuring Mickey Factz and produced by Flames Emoji Beatz, this is the first glimpse into the finale of Cooper’s 4-album Nerdcore saga.
I combed through this thumping preview for story clues and easter eggs, but only found a reason to secure my neck in an appropriate brace.
Beatz designed an OS of synthpop and speaker-rattling boom bap, the proper program for Factz and Cooper to technically hand code all over it.
The opening stage is Factz aggressively attacking the microphone with relentless Nintendo game references. Cooper’s Powerglove punchlines are the final boss, a fire-spitting mic monster who continues to prove himself unbeatable.
While there’s no spoilers in “NintenDOPE”, it does have an abundance of rhyme action for Hip Hop music players who like to mash the volume button. |THIS.
