Hamilton cast member and R&B singer Meecah was a special guest at The Mic Drop on April 4, 2022, a weekly open mic series presented by Brave Space at The Blue Owl Coffee in East Lansing, Michigan.
Hosted by Alexis Rosado of Vision Success Marketing & Consulting, The Mic Drop’s regularly packed and excited house came in with an extra special level of eagerness and enthusiasm.
 With Hamilton in town for its second run at Wharton Center for Performing Arts, the scheduled appearance by the “Intentions” singer added a heightened vibe to its usual vibe and, oh, what a vibe it was!
Firstly, Meecah has impeccable presence. That can’t be taught. This night’s curriculum was a lesson on the art of a showstopping performer.
A natural magnet for undivided attention, Meecah warranted applause by simply standing there smiling at the audience. When she started to sing, one could argue that she lowered the temperature in The Blue Owl without touching its gage. She also iced coffee drinks without adding cubes and cooled sodas without refrigerating them. Chills ran rampant.
Backed by a group of savvy live musicians, Meecah blew hefty yet smooth vocals in the air that peaked magnificently and rained down on every ear listening. Her performance was as much a treat for the East Lansing faithful as Blue Owl’s brown sugar and maple latte. |THIS ENT
