Negativity and selfishness gets great publicity in our social networking, indirect-contact society. You’d be led to believe the world’s running low on good people and that no one cares for or respects one another anymore. Their only concerns are themselves; and when they’re in need, no one is willing to lend them a hand without reward.
This is not the case. Kind, caring, selflessly-generous people still exist. Lawrence Kao is a shining example.
A dancer, musician, and actor, Kao has impressed audiences as Tommy Wah in Netflix series Wu Assassins, a role he reprises in film Fistful of Vengeance.
A versatile performer, Kao’s acting abilities were well received as characters on series The Purge, Sleepy Hallow, The Originals, and The Walking Dead. The same can be said about his work with KINJAZ dance team as they strive to positively innovate, impact, and entertain the world through movement.
While good at what he does, he’s also a good person and one who believes in helping others.
I asked Lawrence Kao to tell me about a time when he did something nice for someone that he didn’t know. Here’s what he shared.
“Yeah, I feel like, in general, that’s just my human nature.
I feel like when there are bad vibes when I’m outside in any general social area, when bad vibes are thrown at me, I usually like to respond very positively. Something that’s unexpected on my behalf. Every time that happens people change their tune. Like, ‘Wait a minute, why am I so upset right now?’
I think that’s what I offer.
It’s easy for me to respond positively to somebody’s bad day even if they’re a stranger. And for them to be like, ‘Oh, actually I’m okay today, and I feel okay.’ And it’s usually like, ‘Thank you for being nice today. I haven’t felt like that in a while.’
Sometimes it’s because your energy has been negative, and people are responding with the same negative energy. I feel like when I change it around, people are like, ‘Oh.’ |THIS.
