Negativity and selfishness gets great publicity in our social networking, indirect-contact society. You’d be led to believe the world’s running low on good people and that no one cares for or respects one another anymore. Their only concerns are themselves; and when they’re in need, no one is willing to lend them a hand without reward.
This is not the case. Kind, caring, selflessly-generous people still exist. Gabrielle Loren Shutter is a shining example.
An adored host, television and digital personality, the lively Gabrielle has shined for E! Entertainment, Style Network, AfterBuzz TV, Impact Wrestling, WOW! Women of Wrestling, Shein LIVE US, and HollywoodHotList.com. Gabrielle’s also co-creator of podcast Breaking Bread with Ali & Gabby. She and her co-host discuss such valuable subjects as practicing self-love, anxiety management, and strengthening connections with a higher power.
Driven to advance her career in other areas, Gabrielle has brought her entertainment, marketing, and branding experience to real estate. Her ShutterEstates.com is an authentic and enjoyable way to find a new home.
While good at what she does, she’s also a good person and one who believes in helping others.
I asked Gabrielle Loren to tell me about a time when she did something nice for someone that she didn’t know. Here’s what she shared.
“Certain years I have given and participated in food donations for the homeless. I’ve had friends organize ways to give back in the past.
[Last] year during Christmas, I knew I was going to be in LA, not with family, and I’m also single so no boyfriend that I have obligatory plans to be with on this day.
A sweet friend of mine was having people over in the evening for dinner, but I had the entire day off. So, I thought, we are in a pandemic, times are tough, there are more homeless on the street in Los Angeles, and younger homeless. What can I do?
I got together with my friend Tony and we both split a grocery bill and bought bread, PB & J, brown lunch bags, chips, and chocolates. I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning putting together these sandwiches and lunch bags and we made about 60 to 70 of them. Once they were done, we drove around Hollywood and would jump out of the car to hand them out to our neighbors on the street.
I thought we could stop in Silverlake where the park is overlooking Downtown LA, as there are tons of homeless people camped out around the lake, but we couldn’t even make it there as there were so many people on Hollywood Blvd and Sunset Blvd within a 2-mile radius!
It was unbelievable how I could get through all those bags on two streets, one block apart from each other, in such a short amount of time.
The holidays can be lonely, being in a pandemic can be lonely, and being homeless can be lonely and many other things. I think it is important to do your part in the world and give to others. If you have time on Christmas or Hanukkah, do something nice for someone else.
Less selfishness and more selflessness in the world is what we need.” |THIS.
