Negativity and selfishness gets great publicity in our social networking, indirect-contact society. You’d be led to believe the world’s running low on good people and that no one cares for or respects one another anymore. Their only concerns are themselves; and when they’re in need, no one is willing to lend them a hand without reward.
This is not the case. Kind, caring, selflessly-generous people still exist. Nick Cartell is a shining example.
An acclaimed actor and singer with an outstanding Broadway resume, Cartell shined in marquee productions ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, ‘The Phantom of the Opera’, ‘Scandalous: The Musical’, and Cirque Du Soleil’s ‘Paramour’. Known to immerse himself in his roles, he captivated audiences as iconic character Jean Valjean in the legendary musical ‘Les Miserables’.
While good at what he does, he’s also a good person and one who believes in helping others.
We asked Nick Cartell to tell us about a time when he did something nice for someone he didn’t know. THIS is what he shared.
“On the ‘Phantom of the Opera’ national tour, there was a group of us that got together and went into Walmart and paid off the Christmas layaway.
We just walked up and were like, ‘Hi! We’re just here to payoff some layaways for some families for Christmas!’ Not knowing who they were, not knowing what would come of it, but we could go in and do that. We could make Christmas better for somebody we didn’t know.
I think little acts of kindness, paying it forward, really just speaks to making the world a better place.” |THIS.
