Negativity and selfishness gets great publicity in our social networking, indirect-contact society. You’d be led to believe the world’s running low on good people and that no one cares for or respects one another anymore. Their only concerns are themselves; and when they’re in need, no one is willing to lend them a hand without reward.

This is not the case. Kind, caring, selflessly-generous people still exist. Shaun LaBelle is a shining example.

LaBelle’s both a television and music producer while also being a musician and recording artist. He’s done each at the highest level for more than 30 years. A top name in the music industry, his credits include Ray Charles, Jody Watley, Prince, and Jeff Lorber, among numerous others.

In addition, Shaun’s built fruitful working relationships with major recording artists and labels. His funky, multiplatinum-selling production remains consistently sought after. It keeps him busy on stages alongside Lindsey Webster, in the studio with Stokley Williams, or on Billboard Charts with songs like current single “Supermoon”.

When not seated behind the mixing board LaBelle’s flying comfortably to the set of television commercials, leading its production hands-on from start to finish. While good at what he does, he’s also a good person and one who believes in helping others.

I asked Shaun LaBelle to tell me about a time when he did something nice for someone he didn’t know. Here’s what he shared.

“On a flight not too long ago I was chatting with a flight attendant who’d just lost her dad. And I’d just lost my mom. And I made her cry.

I told her, ‘You don’t really realize the true extent of what they mean to your life until their gone.’

I told her, ‘While you have your mom around, do yourself a favor and try to spend as much time with her as you possibly can.’ I said, ‘With you being able to travel using the benefits that come with her job, get to your mom and see her as much as you can.’ She started crying.

She thanked me so much, when I got off the plane she handed me a bottle of water with a note that said ‘You made my day’. She appreciated that I took the time to talk to her about that. It made me feel food too.

I got off the plane feeling like I kind of helped her. That was a nice thing.” |THIS.
