Negativity and selfishness gets great publicity in our social networking, indirect-contact society. You’d be led to believe the world’s running low on good people and that no one cares for or respects one another anymore. Their only concerns are themselves; and when they’re in need, no one is willing to lend them a hand without reward.

This is not the case. Kind, caring, selflessly-generous people still exist. Natalie Fikes is a shining example.

Noted as “The World’s Greatest Emcee”, Fikes is an energetic, entertaining speaker, author, radio personality, and leadership coach. She was named one of the JCM Leadership Awards TOP 100 Leaders by New York Times bestselling author and Fortune 500 influencer John C Maxwell. Fikes is also a bestseller. Her top-rated book Empowered to Prosper: Discover How to Become the Woman You Were Created To Be has helped its readers improve their quality of life, relationships and health.

Practicing what she preaches, Fikes graciously opened her arms and home to Wilma Raines – a woman who was left homeless after taking care of her own dying mother all while battling Stage 4 cancer. While good at what she does, Fikes is also a good person and one who believes in helping others.

I asked Natalie Fikes to tell me about a time when she did something nice for someone she didn’t know. Here’s what she shared.

“Taking a homeless woman in my home and resurrecting life into her has to be the most purposeful act of kindness to date. You can check out our story here [on YouTube].

It’s funny, I spent so much time convincing Ms. Wilma to be kind to herself by honoring the days she has, verses spending her days in despair.

Not living a life of purpose is the most unkind act we can ever do to ourselves. Not opening our hearts to be in service of others robs us of discovering our purpose.

It is kindness that allows us to answer the question ‘What do I want?’ so that you can live life doing ‘What you want, with who you want, the way you want’ in benefit of yourself and others.

Selflessness is the oxygen for life.

There is purpose in service which is the arms and feet of kindness. It fuels our purpose and demonstrates just how necessary we all are.” |THIS.
