Negativity and selfishness gets great publicity in our social networking, indirect-contact society. You’d be led to believe the world’s running low on good people and that no one cares for or respects one another anymore. Their only concerns are themselves; and when they’re in need, no one is willing to lend them a hand without reward.
This is not the case. Kind, caring, selflessly-generous people still exist. Baby Paul is a shining example.
A scientist of sound and fusion, the Grammy-nominated hip-hop producer also known as BpZy generated acclaim by properly merging sonic elements. Applauded for refined sound, such notable artists as Nas, Angie Stone, AZ, Large Professor, and Fat Joe will gladly attest Baby Paul’s got the right formula.
As of late the Queens, NY native has been showcasing his chemistry with Detroit, MI rhymer Supa Emcee. Together Supa and BpZy are known as the duo XrossRoads. While good at what he does, he’s also a good person and one who believes in helping others.
I asked Baby Paul to tell me about a time when he did something nice for someone he didn’t know. Here’s what he shared.
“I was at a store on 28th Street in Grand Rapids, MI called ALDI. It’s like a grocery store; I was with my mom shopping, actually.
There was a woman in front of us at the counter. She didn’t have a lot of groceries. She was paying for her food but for some reason her bank card wasn’t working. And people started filing in line behind us.
To not hold up the line and make her feel embarrassed, I just looked at the register for how much it was. I told her, ‘Don’t worry about it. It’s cool. Just pack your stuff, I’ll pay for it.’
She was like, ‘Oh my God, are you sure?’ She was a little nervous. I told her not to worry about it. It was fine. She said, ‘Oh my God, thank you, thank you so much!’ Then she packed her stuff and went out to the parking lot.
After I paid for our stuff and headed to the parking lot she was still out there packing her stuff. She said to me and my mother, ‘That was so nice. God bless you both.’ And she was almost crying. For me it was just paying it forward.
I would feel like if I was in a situation … anything could happen. Even if you have money your credit card or bank card could get demagnetized in your pocket by your phone or something. To avoid being embarrassed, and if you have it, just help the person out. And with that lady it was the holiday season too, so I was like Merry Christmas and God bless! |THIS.
