Negativity and selfishness gets great publicity in our social networking, indirect-contact society. You’d be led to believe the world’s running low on good people and that no one cares for or respects one another anymore. Their only concerns are themselves; and when they’re in need, no one is willing to lend them a hand without reward.

This is not the case. Kind, caring, selflessly-generous people still exist. Candice Hoyes is a shining example.

A classically trained singer, songwriter, producer and composer, Hoyes’ live and recorded performances are as enchanting as Yo-Yo Ma’s stroke of the cello. She captivates audiences with her incredible voice, a widely acclaimed vocal prowess applauded by BET, Soul Train, NPR, The Washington Post, and VOGUE.

Her remarkable 2015 album On a Turquois Cloud is already considered a classic. Based on her current singles “Zora’s Moon” and “Waiting On The World (Tired)”, her next album could very well garner the same distinction.

While good at what she does, she’s also a good person and one who believes in helping others.

I asked Candice Hoyes to tell me about a time when she did something nice for someone that she didn’t know. Here’s what she shared.

“I was seated next to a new mother traveling alone. I offered to hold her newborn baby so she could go to the ladies’ room in peace.

We were on a transatlantic flight and I could see she really needed to get up but had no help.

She felt comfortable accepting my help, and then the flight attendant saw this and offered them an empty row of seats for the rest of the trip.

Small kindness can breed more kindness.” |THIS.
