Negativity and selfishness gets great publicity in our social networking, indirect-contact society. You’d be led to believe the world’s running low on good people and that no one cares for or respects one another anymore. Their only concerns are themselves; and when they’re in need, no one is willing to lend them a hand without reward.

This is not the case. Kind, caring, selflessly-generous people still exist. Aneesa Sheikh is a shining example.

Athletic, intelligent, and blessed with creativity and compassion, Aneesa’s admirable qualities led her to win the prestigious Miss Michigan Teen USA 2020 pageant.

An accomplished singer, songwriter, musician, and producer also, she brings beauty to her uplifting songs and videos, most notably with standouts “Tough Times”, “Bad Thing”, “New Normal”, and “Who’s Gonna Stop Me.”

Believing in the therapeutic benefits of music after it helped rehabilitate her father when he suffered a stroke, Aneesa launched the non-profit Music4M.I.R.A.C.L.E. (Music Inspires, Reaches, Accepts, Captures, Loves, Equally). Through her organization she spreads music therapy and hope to people experiencing a medical crisis.

I asked Aneesa Sheikh to tell me about a time when she did something nice for someone that she didn’t know. Here’s what she shared.

“I’m not sure if this really qualifies because I cannot imagine not doing this in this situation.

This past summer my friend and I were dropping our friend off at her house, and when we were backing out we noticed an elderly lady on the ground underneath a sprinkler. We rushed over to her and realized that she had fallen and was bruised with some cuts on her body.

Immediately, we asked if she was okay and called an ambulance. In the meantime, I ran into her house and brought her a pillow for her head, a blanket so she would warm up.

This experience touched my heart and brought me back to the times my dad [who suffered a stroke] was in her situation. He told me that whenever he falls, bring him those items immediately. I did the same with this lady.

The next week, I dropped off flowers at her house and visited with her. Thankfully, she is perfectly healthy now! I can’t imagine not doing this if you see someone in a similar situation.

A different example which I did not have to do but am glad I did was singing to the older individuals in-person prior to COVID, and after via Zoom, in retirement homes. Some of them are so bored and don’t have a lot of visitors.

Their faces really brighten up and I love seeing their smile.” |THIS.
