Negativity and selfishness gets great publicity in our social networking, indirect-contact society. You’d be led to believe the world’s running low on good people and that no one cares for or respects one another anymore. Their only concerns are themselves; and when they’re in need, no one is willing to lend them a hand without reward.

This is not the case. Kind, caring, selflessly-generous people still exist. Joe Little III is a shining example.

A Grammy and Billboard Award winning singer, songwriter and multiplatinum selling producer, The King of Hearts’ remarkable talent has blessed such top artists as Gerald Levert, Roger Troutman, Snoop Dogg, Angie Stone, Wyclef Jean, and Keith Sweet, as well as hit movies The Fast and the Furious and Rush Hour 2.

The lead singer of chart-topping R&B supergroup The Rude Boys, Little and his mates were inducted into the prestigious National Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame in 2019. A successful solo artist also, his heartfelt “When I Think Of You” has garnered rave reviews.

While good at what he does, he’s also a good person and one who believes in helping others.

I asked Joe Little III to tell me about a time when he did something nice for someone that he didn’t know. Here’s what he shared.

“I’m a facilitator for a self-development program and I come across a lot of broken people, and I have no idea who they are.

I do it for men and women coming out of the penitentiary system, re-entering into society. I do it for guys and females going through child support, and motherhood and fatherhood, who are having a hard time knowing who they are and finding jobs.

Four days a week for 4 hours I give my 100% to people who I have no idea who they are, and they’re with me for 16 days. I make the effort to help them with their lives. That in and of itself makes me sharpen myself!

I give the people what God has given me, which is the knowledge. By me going into my temple and doing the spiritual surgery that I need to do for myself, it has helped me to deliver to other people who are broken and who don’t have a clue.

A lot of my friends get on me because when I see people begging, or I see somebody that’s hurting, I’m always giving them money because I don’t like to see people doing bad. And I’ve been a person that’s had millions and squandered it, going back to where I needed to borrow money, or I didn’t know where my family’s next meal was going to come from.

I understand how it feels to be without and how it feels to hurt yourself, also. So, I’m always trying to give, give, give because I believe in life.

Life is more about giving than taking. |THIS.
