Negativity and selfishness gets great publicity in our social networking, indirect-contact society. You’d be led to believe the world’s running low on good people and that no one cares for or respects one another anymore. Their only concerns are themselves; and when they’re in need, no one is willing to lend them a hand without reward.
This is not the case. Kind, caring, selflessly-generous people still exist. Taja Riley is a shining example.
A no limits entertainer, Riley aka T.K.O. is an internationally renowned dancer, choreographer, creative director, educator, screenwriter, DJ, and model. An advocate for the dance community, she speaks out about equality, acknowledgement, compensation, and representation.
Acclaimed for show-stopping brilliance, Riley has worked with many of the world’s top artists including Janet Jackson, Beyonce, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, and Chris Brown. Her fans can enjoy astonishing performances on her music video-game show series SLAYMATE.
While good at what she does, she’s also a good person and one who believes in helping others.
I asked Taja Riley to tell me about a time when she did something nice for someone that she didn’t know. Here’s what she shared.
“I feel like demonstrating acts of kindness and servitude is part of my lifestyle, so I don’t really think of it as memorable moments.
Living my life that way is a key value of how my parents raised me.
Usually when I perform an act of kindness, I don’t document it. In my brain, in that way, it’s just natural.
I think, especially within the field of work that I’m in, servitude is part of what I do as an entertainer.
As much as I’m serving what’s in my soul, I’m also giving to thousands and thousands and thousands of people that I’m effecting and changing their lives and shifting their lives in ways I don’t even know!
I don’t know a higher act of kindness than being able to share my gift with the world and be a channel for God to speak through.” |THIS.
