Touring hip-hop artist Erik Stephen is back for another conversation! In THIS INTERVIEW we discuss the success of his “From My Car” live streaming performance from April 8 and talk about its April 24 follow-up, “From My Car: Shotgun”. Enjoy!

THIS: Lots of artists are going Live with streaming concerts. Why did you choose to use Stageit.com for “From My Car”?

Erik Stephen: Honestly?  Because of MC Lars.  He was having a live show on StageIt and so I checked it out.  I signed up and got accepted.

THIS: Erik, we really enjoyed the show. What was your take on it?

Erik Stephen: I absolutely loved it!  Everyone seemed to be having a really fun time.  I’m used to rapping in my car, this time I had an audience.

THIS: Tell us the best compliment or feedback you got.

Erik Stephen: A couple of families watched the event as a family.  That was cool.  One sent me a video of their kids singing along to the songs.

THIS: You had a nice mix of songs. How did you determine your set list?

Erik Stephen: I like to mix a little of my older stuff with my newer stuff.  “Pizza Party” was my newest song so I wanted to make sure I did that one.  “Cero Miedo” has almost 15k streams on Spotify so I figured that’s a good one to do too! [Laughs]

THIS: Man, when is “I Kill Giants” coming out?!

Erik Stephen: May 7th.

THIS: It’s pretty cool that you’ve already scheduled your follow-up. Tell us what you have in store for “From My Car: Shotgun” on April 24, 2020.

Erik Stephen: This one I’m letting the audience pick the set list.  For everyone that gets their ticket by Thursday I’ll ask them which songs I should do.

THIS: We think you should open with “Giants” and, of course, drop “T-shirt Game” in there somewhere. Speaking of which, will you tell us what shirt you’ll be sporting this time around?

Erik Stephen: “I Kill Giants” is a good idea.  As for my shirt, whatever it is it’ll be awesome. |THIS.
