A perk of being a 20-year entertainment writer is that I get to do stuff because I write stuff. Back in 1999 while sitting in the backroom of EMAG Graphics, a west Michigan design and printing business owned and operated by filmmaker/recording artist Chilla Pertilla, I got introduced to the music by Detroit rap icon Bizarre.

Chilla was playing one of his tapes and I remember some of the lyrics made me laugh out loud. Fast forward 19 years and Iā€™m a guest at the Detroit advance screening of USA Networkā€™s Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.

The event was hosted by Bizarre, and he made sure everyone invited had a great time. I got to meet Super Bowl champion LaMarr Woodley who told me he was working on an animation project and needed an artist. Much to the surprise of Jet Boy creator Corey ā€œRoc Bottomā€ Davis, I called him and, without prompting, just handed the phone to Woodley.

I also got to share a lengthy conversation with famed author and TV/film executive Lyah Beth LeFlore. While we were talking Bizarre joined in and had us both laughing out loud! |THIS.
