In a team-controlled poll, the players for football team Lansing Lightning voted to name their Week 2 PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: #28 Jaden Sutton (Offence), #20 Josh Grier (Defense), #30 Cody Biehl (Special Teams), #53 Shain Shannon (Offensive Lineman), and #98 Mikey Williams (Defensive Lineman)!

To celebrate and reflect on their achievement, we asked each player THIS GOOD QUESTION: Tell us how it feels to be recognized as a PLAYER OF THE WEEK, and how did your hard work and play benefit your team?

Here are their responses:

“It feels good to know I helped my team get the win, but I’m only as good as the people I’m surrounded by. Also, my hard work as a defensive tackle was to put pressure on the opposing quarterback and force cutbacks so that my linebackers could do their work.” – #98 Mikey Williams

“It feels good that I was nominated for Player Of The Week, let alone getting it. My kicks allowed my team to have a better chance at getting a stop and allowing the offense to have a better opportunity to score on the miscues by the return team.” – #30 Cody Biehl

“It feels great! My peers recognizing me and awarding me with the Defensive Player Of The Week, it benefits my team with the win. When we needed stops, I stepped up to deliver them for them and I will continue to do so in the games coming up!” – #20 Josh Grier

“It always feels like an honor to be nominated by your teammates for Player Of The Week. It’s a high honor that’s only a testament to the hard work I put in, day in and day out.

I feel like my play benefited the team in a big way by giving us the spark we needed to put a very tough Red Storm team away. But, as always, I wouldn’t be in this position without my ‘Pancake House Boys’ up front. Those are my dawgs, and they deserve just as much recognition as me.” – #28 Jaden Sutton

“It’s a great honor for my teammates to vote me Offensive Linemen Of The Week. As an offensive lineman there is a lot we don’t get credit for. So, some recognition is always appreciated. As a player I am very unselfish and will do whatever it takes to make sure that my team finishes on top. I bring a great attitude and effort every time I step on that field. I believe it helps my teammates to be successful.” – #53 Shain Shannon |
