Multiplatinum-selling Hip Hop icon and actor DMX passed away at age 50 on April 9, 2021 from heart attack caused by a reported drug overdose.

The New York native battled drug addiction for most of his life. Caringly, he used much of his time and influence outside of entertainment to advocate for people who shared his struggle.

DMX didn’t shy away from his troubles and here was never reluctant to help people who needed him. For this his fans showed him sympathy and incredible empathy to the very end.

Looking back on his life and career made us ask THIS GOOD QUESTION: What did you like most about DMX?

We shared our thoughts, then turned the question over to the public.

DMX fan Akilah B. from LA responded.

She answered, “His realness. He didn’t try to be something he wasn’t.

He acknowledged his flaws while still being human. His energy [and] stage presence was everything.

He could have a crowd turned up to 100 and down to zero fast with his words of prayer. And no matter what your spiritual [or] religious belief was, you listened and felt his words.

I am so, so glad that I got to see him live.” |THIS.
