Director Zach Snyder’s anticipated recut of Justice League has an opportunity to rewrite the mostly negative impressions of the original film. Its full-length trailer made sure to give significant screen time to iconic villain Joker.

This has us asking THIS GOOD QUESTION:

What is Joker’s role in Zack Snyder’s Justice League?

The original version of Justice League teased that Joker murdered Robin, Batman’s acrobatic young sidekick. The Clown Prince of Crime, however, did not actually appear in the film.

Also, in the original film Batman had a peculiar vision of an apocalyptic future.

The trailer for Zack Snyder’s Justice League alludes to this scene having greater importance and concludes with Batman coming face to face with a weary Joker during that flashforward.

Noted archenemies, the two men did not appear threatened in the clip. I got no sense of tension from what was shown. In fact, I sensed the opposite.

The preview suggests that the evil Darkseid and his forces of Apokolips are going to potentially invade Earth with destructive results. The attack is certain take the lives of many key characters which could include Joker’s love interest, Harley Quinn.

I’m sensing that Batman and Joker might be on the verge of forming an unlikely alliance in that apocalyptic future.

Maybe Joker’s role in that vision is to team up with Batman to fight off Darkseid and his army, and in real life inspire Batman join forces with his fellow superheroes. |THIS.
