The acclaimed Hip Hop artist and filmmaker, currently a resident of Atlanta, is returning to his hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan for Return of the Boom Bap – a multi-day cultural event culminating with a headlining homecoming concert at The Pyramid Scheme on February 18, 2022.
Sixman will share this momentous occasion with co-headliners The Fist Coalition, a set by rising star Alfie Da Great, and the finest musicality from West Michigan icons DJ Monk Matthaeus and DJ Ill One.
This event is highly anticipated by people who adore their brand of Hip Hop, yet there are others asking, “What is Boom Bap?”
Boom Bap is raw, gritty, sample driven thump that defines the golden era sound and versatility. Boom Bap is the sound of the concrete jungle.

Renowned HipHop artist Sixman is coming home to Grand Rapids, MI to headline Return of the Boom Bap at The Pyramid Scheme (68 Commerce Ave SW) on Friday February 18, 2022.
Return of the Boom Bap has been shaped into a cultural event. A Pop-Up Shop with Sixman, Queen of Sweets GR, and DJ Monk Matthaeus is set for Thursday February 17, 2022, from 3PM – 6:30PM EST at VERTIGO (129 South Division).

The concert presented by GRHIPHOP.org, THISENT.com, and FAM ENT, Sixman will be joined by acclaimed group The Fist Coalition, fast-rising solo act Alfie Da Great, and DJ icons Monk Matthaeus and DJ Ill One. THISENT managing editor and event host Mr. Joe Walker will serve as the night’s MC. Along with its scheduled performers, expect breakers and graffiti artists to contribute added flavor to the momentous occasion.
