I spent a lot of time in arcades as a child. When it came to the maze craze of cabinets, I was more into Dig Dug, Mr. Do!, and Ms. Pac-Man than I was the original dot-gobbling ghost dodger.

That was until I took a trip to Cleveland, OH.

During my time there I came across Pac-Man in a corner store that was located right around the block from where I was staying. It was a two-minute walk for $0.25 candy and a video game fix, but Pac-Man wasn’t my ideal treat choice.

Once I started playing it, I quickly realized it would be a different experience. It stood out instantly from all the other times I plucked quarters into the Atari classic.

This Pac-Man was faster. Way faster. Like lightning faster. The speed it moved somehow helped me strategize better than I could playing its slower version.

That version of Pac-Man became one of the greatest video games ever to me, and it’s the reason I own Pac-Man Championship Edition today. |THIS ENT
