Time travel is real. We began our annual “Reflection Q&A Interview Series” six years ago; in each one the participant recounts their likes and growth from the previous year while also sharing what to expect from them in the year to come.
THISENT.com did not exist when the pioneering “15 to 16 Q&A” debuted with another publication in 2016. The beauty of it all is that time has allowed our team to carry the series with us here today.
With that in mind we decided to share the interview with award-winning Hip Hop artist and philanthropist HighTyde from six years ago!
Following this trip through time, we’ll share what HighTyde is up to six years later. THIS is for YOU!
What was your favorite song last year?
“American You” by Yelawolf.
What was your favorite movie?
It Follows.
What’s the television show you couldn’t stop watching?
The Walking Dead.
What album did you play the most?
Yelawolf’s Love Story.
What did you Goggle the most?
“HighTyde”. I mean, c’mon, I have to see what the people are saying.
What’s the most shocking news you heard all year?
“Roman Reigns is your new WWE Heavyweight Champion!”
Tell how you evolved over the last 12 months.
Expanding my brand, going outside of performing and jumping into music videography and editing.
What was your biggest blessing?
Just continuing to do what I love, and love what I do on a day-to-day basis. Not every artist can wake up every day feeling inspired and have so many avenues to express their creativeness.
What can your fans and critics expect from you in 2016?
More music, more music videos, more evolution, and more #MissingLinx.
And forget what People Magazine says! Who was the sexiest person of the year?
The people have spoken. Mr. Joe Walker takes the nod on this one! | THIS is for YOU!

NOW: Before the pandemic changed the world, HighTyde was preparing for the 7th edition of his annual charity concert event Project Cypher. With each event he donates 100% of the proceeds to a family with special needs children. These unprecedented times saw HighTyde dive deeper into film making, producing, and engineering, working behind the scenes on upcoming projects of his own and for others. In June 2022, he triumphantly returned to the stage for the first time since the pandemic to compete in the FireKeepers (Casino) Has Talent competition, becoming a 2-time winner of the lucrative contest.
