Time travel is real. We began our annual “Reflection Q&A Interview Series” six years ago; in each one the participant recounts their likes and growth from the previous year while also sharing what to expect from them in the year to come.

THISENT.com did not exist when the pioneering “15 to 16 Q&A” debuted with another publication in 2016. The beauty of it all is that time has allowed our team to carry the series with us here today.

With that in mind we decided to share the interview with multiplatinum award-winning singer, songwriter, author, and educator Dr. Khadijah Ali-Coleman Ed. D. aka Khadijah Moon from six years ago!

Following this trip through time, we’ll share what Khadijah is up to six years later. THIS is for YOU!

What was your favorite song last year?

My favorite song from my own discography was my song “Hunger”. My favorite song by another artist was Alessia Cara’s song “Here”.

What was your favorite movie?

I enjoyed Mad Max: Fury Road this year. Great action movie with both a male and female hero lead. More movies need to take note of that.

What’s the television show you couldn’t stop watching?

I have an unhealthy obsession with the show Z Nation starring Kellita Smith who used to be Wanda on The Bernie Mack Show. I love that show!

What album did you play the most?

D’Angelo got all the time in my disc drive this year. I can listen to “Really Love” on repeat for a 45-minute drive.

What did you Goggle the most?

[Laughs] I don’t think I’m supposed to tell that. I actually don’t Google one person in particular. I Google movies on Wikipedia.

What’s the most shocking news you heard all year?

“No indictment” in the Tamir Rice shooting. Heartbreaking and soul-wrenching.

Tell how you evolved over the last 12 months.

In the vein of Marvin Gaye, Nina Simone, Curtis Mayfield and other notable soul acts, I have begun to write more socially conscious works and use my platform to address things happening in our world besides just things pertaining to love and sex.

What was your biggest blessing?

I enjoyed winning a Maryland State individual artist award for my music work and I enjoyed performing in many festivals this year, including the National Cherry Blossom Festival. It led to some opportunities that may bring my music to a wider audience in 2016.

What can your fans and critics expect from you in 2016?

Some of my music will be licensed to appear in some of your favorite shows, so be on the lookout for that. I also have an amazing opportunity I can’t talk about right now but hopefully all will be known in 2016. Of course, I will be releasing more music, including free downloads produced with my genius producer, Ben Beta.

And forget what People Magazine says! Who was the sexiest person of the year?

Michael B. Jordan and Nate Parker are two of the biggest hunks Hollywood has to offer. They have everyone beat. | THIS is for YOU!
