On a scale of 1 to 10 how happy are you to be alive?

10.

There is way too much going on right now and it really puts things in perspective. I have so much to be thankful for.

As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a librarian or an artist. I loved reading as a kid and art was my favorite subject in school.

What was your favorite cartoon?

Snoopy. He is still that dude – especially as Joe Cool.

Tell us your favorite song as a kid, as a teenager, and now as an adult.

This is ridiculously difficult.

I’ll go with Janet Jackson – “Rhythm Nation,” Eminem – “Sing for the Moment,” Erykah Badu – “I Want You”.

What’s an album that means more to you now than it did when you first heard it?

No Doubt’s Return Of Saturn.  I feel like Gwen’s lyrics are so underrated on that album and now I fully understand her perspective as an adult.

What are your 3 favorite movies?

Ahhh, I have so many, but okay, just 3. Almost Famous, Napoleon Dynamite, and Inglourious Basterds.

What’s the last film that made you cry or almost cry, and what scene did it?

Jojo Rabbit. I don’t want to spoil it, but if you know, you know.

What’s your all-time favorite TV show?

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Which character on that show do you identify with most?

Ashley Banks because her outfits still inspire me. I had her Kiss The Sky album too.

What makes you laugh out loud or smile uncontrollably every time you see it or hear it?

My family and I have a “funny book.”  We journal all of the funny things that have happened to us over the years, and I still lose it every time I read an entry.

Who in your family served you the most delicious, unforgettable dish you’ve ever eaten?

My mom has always been an amazing cook. Her enchiladas one of my favorite dishes for sure.

Tell us the most nutritious thing you’ve fed your mind.

The knowledge that we’re all connected and that love and positivity can change the trajectory of your life.

When did you start to understand your value?

After struggling with health issues, I realized that I could not love or value anyone more than myself.

Who is the G.O.A.T. of your profession?

Angie Martinez because I love her energy.  She grew up a huge Hip Hop fan and ended up becoming a cultural staple.

Do you aspire to be like them or more like someone you have a stronger personal connection to?

Though I admire her and her career immensely, I always aspire to be the best version of myself.

Recall for us the first time you failed. What lesson did you learn from that?

In 3rd grade, I remember getting upset about getting a C in English.  My dad ended up helping me, and I became a much better writer in the end.  Nothing is a failure if you adjust or learn from it.

In what way have you evolved over the last 12 months?

I’ve been trying to align my chakras and stay centered through all of the chaos through yoga, prayer and meditation.  I feel that I’ve become a lot more present and feel more balanced.

When was a time that someone you didn’t know did something nice for you? What did they do?

I was parking downtown LA and this couple gave me a parking pass they already paid for since they were about to leave.  I was shook.

How would you explain to someone the importance of valuing their time?

It sounds so cliché, but no one is promised another day, so make the best of the time you have here.

What’s been the biggest blessing of your life?

Being healthy and able to live my dreams surrounded by friends and family who love me. |THIS.
