In a player-controlled poll, Lansing Lightning’s #90 Delmar Kittle was voted as the PLAYER OF THE WEEK for record third time!

We, along with his teammates, are honored and proud to celebrate his contributions to the Lightning this season. THISENT is happy to join the applause for the 3-time POTW.

Delmar is back for the second week in a row. We’re doubly and triply excited to have him. Here in THIS INTERVIEW, we reflect on his continued success in the 2022 football season.

Congratulations! You just went from 2-time Player of the Week to 3-time Player of the Week! How does it feel?

Two-time Player of the Week was phenomenal for me, then I went and got a 3rd one! I’m feeling untouchable and ready for some wolves!

Your teammates have acknowledged you for the third time, two times in the last two weeks. What have these accolades done for your sense of togetherness, teamwork. and loyalty?

The more my teammates acknowledge me, the more inclined I am to give it my all. I’m not the strongest, fastest, smartest, or meanest. I’m none of them for this team, but I give my all every snap and I love to do it for my brothers.

You said previously that Ray Lewis was your biggest inspiration. Please, tell us why he is.

Ray Lewis has the most tackles of all-time. The man came with so much intensity his teammates had no choice but to follow he. He was in every play, every time. I watched him play growing up with his big hit-sticks punch-outs or just plain bullying grown men. I hope I look like that guy out there.

When mentioning Ray Lewis, you also said “baybeeeee” which is a vernacular associated with pro wrestler Kofi Kingston. Are you a fan? Does he inspire you too?

I watched Kofi Kingston get his debut in the WWE but I did not know he says that. And I haven’t watched for a long time, so, no relation.

Delmar, what are you wrestling with the most in life on and off the field?

Off the field I’m currently going through a transition of moving furniture, to painting. That’s much easier to deal with than the bumps, the bruises, and the tears opposed to moving furniture. I also have a 2-year-old son that gets any free time he can!

On the field my biggest enemy is my conditioning. I gotta get some more running in if we wanna go all the way. Gotta focus on staying low and playing my game.

You said your major goal this season was the Florida championship. How are you encouraging your team to work toward and believe in this same goal?

Last week was the first week we practiced in helmets to help with a team conditioning. And I like to say I kinda inspired that, but mainly I’m focused on creating a bond with my guys.

My team has all the talent, we just struggle putting it together at times. I feel like if everyone puts it on the line for their brothers, for their family, we are unbeatable. Whenever guys think down or worrisome, I let them know we’re going to eat these Wolves up Saturday.

And when we make it to Florida, not a team out there will want to see us! | THIS is for YOU!
